Know the Saskatchewan points division

 Saskatchewan is a prairie and boreal province in western Canada.

 You must be accepted into IRCC’s Express entry pool. You need to check the following points to know your eligibility:

1.       Have a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker code

2.       You need to have minimum of 60 points on the SIP point assessment grid

3.       You must have appropriate language test result score

4.       You should have completed post-secondary school or training

5.       Have appropriate work experience for at least 2 years

6.       Work experience should be in the field of your education

7.        You must be eligible for the program you are going to apply for

Saskatchewan points are given based on the following factors for Factor 1:

1.       Education and Training

If you have:

a.       Master’s or Doctorate Degree you will have 23 points

b.       Bachelor’s Degree or at least a three year degree you will have 20 points

c.       Trade certification you will have 20 points

d.       Canadian equivalent diploma, you will have 15 points and so on.

 

2.       Skilled work experience

Your work experience must be related to the job profile you have mentioned in your application. One year of work experience is a must.

a.       If you have work experience between 1-5 years:

·         5 years = 10

·         4 years = 8

·         3 years = 6

·         2 years = 4

·         1 years = 2

 

b.       In the 6-10 years prior to application submission date

·         5 years = 5

·         4 years = 4

·         3 years = 3

·         2 years = 2

·         Less than 1 year = 0

 

3.       Language ability

Canada has two official languages. First official language is English and the other one is French. Let’s talk about English.

a.       English

·         CLB 8 and higher = 20

·         CLB 7 = 18

·         CLB 6 = 16

·         CLB 5 = 14

·         CLB 4 – 12

·         English or French speaker without language test = 0

 

4.       Age

If you are:

·         Less than 18 years = 0

·         18-21 years = 8

·         22-34 years = 12

·         35-45 = 10

·         46-50 = 8

·         More than 50 years = 0

 

Maximum points for factor 1 are 80 points.

 For factor 2 the point division is given below:

If you have:

·         High skilled employment letter from a Saskatchewan employer = 30

·         Close family relative in Saskatchewan = 20

·         Past work experience in Saskatchewan = 5

·         Past student experience in Saskatchewan = 5

The maximum points given for factor 2 are 30. The total Saskatchewan points given for both the factors are 110. You need to have at least 60 points to be eligible for Canada PR.
